008: EVANGELION-02 (scene)

EVANGELION-02

The 30th Anniversary G.Kit Series: No. 008

🎬 [From Neon Genesis Evangelion]

Manufacturer: Kaiyodo (海洋堂)
Scale: Non-scale
Plastic Type: Garage Kit (G.Kit)
Year of purchase: 1996
Year of modelling fulfilment: 2022.11 (waited for 26 years to be completed)

This's the second non-scale Evangelion G.Kit that I've finished for the Kaiyodo's EVA G.Kit series. And I'm about to process with the last one - EVANGELION-05 in the next project.

Well, since I finished the EVA-00 G.Kit in my last project. And I don't have much room to place so many G.Kits. So, I come up with an idea to create a scene to put the EVAs together to save room. It can also enrich the elegance for the G.Kit themselves. So I made a scene base. Based on the landscape of the GeoFront headquarter of Nerv in the TV series.

I always imagine to apply the military environment into the anime models. Such as the R&R scenes of the army soldier in WWII. Those kind of modelling scenes are very realistic and they are the factors to draw people attention to the details of your work. Therefore, I love to apply these factors into my Sci-Fi and anime models.

I spent 2 weeks to finish the kit. And I'm glad to have the second EVA get done. The third one is upcoming in the next project. And I look forward to share the next one to complete my whole EVANGELION G.Kit series.

This is the best looking EVA-02 model in the market (Best scale, not a toy and no ball joints).

The post is based on the Evangelion TV series episode-8
where the Asuka and EVA-02 first appeared in the series. It's a famous scene of EVA-02 onboard.

I've replaced the cutter's blade with a 1.0mm thick ABS sheet. So it looks harder and sharper.

I try to recreate a scene occurs in the GeoFront headquarter of Nerv underneath the Tokyo-3 city.

There're pine trees, a small waterfall and a pond to form a landscape.
The concept of all these is that I imagine of Asuka and Rei might take a panic with EVAs...🤣

I also want to find a tent to place it next to the pond
but I couldn't find out a tent model that is tiny enough to align the EVA's scale.

The pond is made of eproxy resin.
It's mixed up with a cyan color raw material. So, the pond looks crystal cyan.

I just finished the EVA-00 in the last project. It's just damn fit to part it with the EVA-02 to form a scene.

I love to build scene base. Because you can also imagine the place you wanna build.
It can also enrich your model realistically.

I tried to take the photo from a lower angle. To make the scene looks real.

The water decal for EVA-00 and EVA-02 are very hard to find.
I spent 2 weeks just to find out the decal for EVA-02

To create a scene. These are typical materials.
The high density foam, tiny rocks of difference kinds and the ABS plastic sheet.

The landscape is being shaped. This is the funniest part that I always love to.

Almost done. The rest is to pour in the eproxy resin (環氧樹脂) to form a pond and waterfall.
